I have found all F stops to be fine with my camera actually, I hear that people have problems with F8, but I don't seem to.
So funny about the Google search, that made me laugh.
I converted my G6 myself, it was very easy to do actually. Still need to get some decent glass instead of using two mircosope slides, should get rid of some of the banding I am getting.

If 5.6 gives you the focus you are satisfied with great!Just got a G6 Ir Converted from keh.com for $429 for my partner,I need to set it up but no time as yet.Googled G6 IR and up pops DAN WILSON!! There are lots of Ir converted cameras on Ebay now but I want a D80 or D200 with focus adjustment for 300mm for birds in flight. Take care Robbie

Hi Robert, thank you so much, yes I normally shoot at 5.6, not sure how the 3.5 slipped in there, must have needed that for something I was shooting in a darker area earlier and forgot to set back. I am not sure what you mean by IR Focusing differences as my camera auto focus is working fine at all zoom levels and even macro with all my IR filters, just not a night.

Thank you so much Peter, yes it certainly is. Have spent most of my IR time here, and most of my shots posted so far are from here. I need to find another wonderland now :-). There are still a couple of spots here I need to master yet, each time the sun has been in the wrong spot.

Nice image (bearing in mind we're in 'summer', I can make do with winter pictures..) The clouds lend something unusual to this winter scene, too.

Beautiful shot Dan,very peaceful mood. 1/500@3.5,personally I shoot at a smaller aperture for better definition and to minimize IR focusing differences. The colors that I am getting now are done with Nik Color Efex 3,awesome plugin. Still waiting for your first image the other side. Take care Robbie
