Story behind the photo: I paused as a food stall where the sell things like hamburgers, french fries, frikandellen.
I had my camera in my backpack, not to scare people.
I was standing quite nearby this lady, half a meter away. Afer 10 nibutes or so I approached her kindly and said I was trying to learn how to make portraits and that I would very much like to photograph her. I also asked if her boyfriend would mind. No. Wahen making the shots she had to stand further away, approx 1.25 meters because of the 105 mm I used. Then I took the camera out of ny backpack. After making 2 shots I showed her the result on the LCD display. She was pleased and I said just be yourself. I made another 5 shots and then I felt the magic was over. Usually I ask for an email adress so I can send them the results, In this case I forgot.

Honestly, even when models drive down to shoot with me, the initial uncertainty almost always results in the first 20+ shots unworthy of consideration. Only after we shoot for a while (maybe 30 minutes) do they finally relax and begin to blossom and reveal some personality.
So, tapping a stranger for even a dozen shots I think would still be within that uncertainty barrier - doubly so since you approached HER.

Hi Harry, you have asked her to make a few shots. Sure her natural look is bright and brilliant. It is a very good lighted shot as well. I would say this close-up is even intimidate. Did she not ask you why you wanted to make pictures of her ? What reason you told her to change from being shy into being cooperative ? She looks so true.
Your experience here would be a lesson for me and possibly for many other photographers as well,
