Thanks Gary, I have the habit of no auto focus on birds and wildlife and landscapes. I appreciate the encouragement and will work on some more for the wall!! Be well, Stan

Stan, your 70-300 autofocus will not work with a multiplier. However manual will work in any light and since you use manual anyway try it. You should be able to get super detail and get some truely memorable shots. Good luck. Gary

Hi Gary, not up enough of the tech side to know for sure about the multipliers. I use manual focus for most of what I am trying to do. It is a small adjustment usually. I have a Sigma 70-300 zoom macro but have not tried adding a doubler. Mine is f4 -5.6 so not really comparable. I have just a good starter but it is weak in low light. Good luck, the details on this were sweet. Be well, Stan

Hey, I have a mono pod but didnt use it that day. That was taken with elbows in the stomach. I have a Tamaron 75-200mm f2.8, love it but it doesnt reach out enough for birds. I have a 2x mag but it slows down the autofocus enough so I dont use it for birds on the wing. Is there a good multiplier that doesnt slow down autofocus. Gary

Yes Gary, the sunny days have been hiding from me too!! We got snow 4 times this week. Had a couple of inches in the valley over night. That Sigma has some good optics. Do you use a mono pod with it? I am getting a Tamaron Adapt-all 400mm from a friend to try. I will have to shoot manual for it to work. It is a fine piece of glass and I cannot wait to try it. I have a pair of Balds nesting across the road from me in a huge Cottonwood tree. Enjoy what is left of winter, spring is closer every day.
