Who knows!!
One of my very feministic theories is that yeah, some men considered it as sexy, so some women started trying to follow the pattern of sexiness, and not thinking about themselves in a matter of health and - also! - beauty of their legs years years later (nor men thinking about it either!).
It's generalisation of course. I do not want to suffer. And my boyfriend doesn't like high heels. But many follow pattern ;)
There is also one thing: high heel which makes it look sexy, let's say not very high, medium one, and something like huge nail or post which makes women more funny and miserable than sexy, when they stretch all muscles in feet and pay all attention to not fall ;)
Maybe I should give a lecture.

Still I'm full of impression about some kind of being determinate. I had some high heels shoes, not needle-like, with something more stable, and after a few hours my friend had to help me walking properly. I didn't feel sexy, but I got to know that legs may be dying apart from rest of body ;)
And very interesting sentence about the balance btw

I was talking this high heel problems with my colleague a couple of years ago. She said that, I was feeling myself well-balanced and secure among other men and women. It comes so interesting to me those days. :))
