This reminds me of my sunlight harbor photograph. I had the same luck waiting for the light to be just right and suddenly a few rays peeked through the clouds. Patience is what great photographers have and it shows here. Wonderful image Kevin with wonderful tones, great mood and it does make you feel cold but warmed by the sun in the back ground. Congratulations on the being the "Photographer of the Day"!!!!

I wish you had listed an email, I would have written you directly.
First of all I am not a photographer but a writer from California. I visit usefilm.com at least two or three times a week to add visuals to my work or to be inspired. You, my friend, are truly inspirational!
Being a photographer (artist) is similar to being a writer -- the art is subjective.
I wanted to stop and tell you, however, that after viewing YOUR work "I get it." I have traveled this site extensively and only a few artists realy stand out for me personally. Rui Pahla is another artist I adore. I now add you to my very limited list.
Your perspectives are intriguing, captivating and worthy of comment. I have saved a few of your works to remember you.
Again, I wish you had indicated an email address. I never use another's work unless I ask permission and I know I can certainly write to your photographs.

Hi Kevin,
The is one (of your many) great shots. I have put it in my favorites. All around great. I like your comments of waiting for the shot and the early morning and cold. I think we all appreciate what we and others go through to get such great photos as this one and others. Having been there and done that as we all have, when I look at all the photos in this great site, and sitting very comfortably by my computer in my den, I can feel not only what the photographer sees through his/her lens, but also the coldness and chill of the early morn or the wind coming up as the sun sets.

Kevin, The watch you refer to in your comment (thanks for that) is an "ordinary" Seiko, but it serves me well.....
This is an absolute winner, by the way. Impressive gallery; but this one would be my favourite. Almost devine! Outstanding work, I'm truely impressed.

What an incredible shot...I usually cruise the thumbnails pretty quick, but this one stopped me dead in my tracks. Make sure you make a few hi-res copies of this one (and don't trust them to CD's...you may not be able to read it in a few years!)

I think when you have to endure, the image says so much more to the photograher, but here is says much to the viewer as well. I love the composition with the two boats and the sun...feeds the eye around the image. Just a great, great shot!
