The camera meters on a very very small area (2% or so) of the image, on a dot, as opposed to 9% or so which is what our Canons have for single point. You can focalize on the eye of a bird, and be sure you get the exposure for that spot, as opposed to an average for a larger area, with many colors, lighting, etc. Maybe it's called spot metering, but in any case, it's more precise for wildlife and macros, which you do a lot. Nikon D70 has is, Canon doesn't as far as I know, not even 20D. All the Point & shoot digicams have it!

Daniel, you're doing wonders with the Rebel, given that you don't have spot focus, great results!

Daniel, this one looks a lot like a Zone-tailed Hawk (Buteo albonotatus). However he/she resembles the Common Black- Hawk (Buteogallus anthracinus). Both species live in your area. That's as far I can guess. Please take a look at this shot. This one is the Common Black- Hawk: http://www.usefilm.com/image/749479.html Let me know if you ever find out his/her identity. Take care. Yamil

Me encanta...
