I think I shot around 7 shots of L while I was printing a proof for the sisters. Lighting placement was very rushed, and she was seated on a posing stool. Camera angle was around eye level or a tad higher, but the head tilt back makes it appear the camera was a bit too low.
I do have a couple of shots with her looking into the camera Marc, trust me. With eyes like her's, I should be thrown in the lock up if I hadn't taken at least one. I understand what you mean about a model looking up or over there, but how many, many times do you see it?
Sometimes it works for me, sometimes it doesn't. I like this one look of her, as well as the straight ahead into the camera look.

Technically good, but I'm not entirely convinced. First, I find it a bit stiff, then I'm not keen about the pull over eating up the hand... Then, more important probably, the low camera angle while she's looking up emphasizes her jaw, making it the most prominent part of the face. Finally, if it has to be a very posed shot, why not simply capture a strong gaze at the camera ? That's maybe just me, but I find this looking up thing a bit contrieved and over-used. I rated this a 7, though, because it's still well lit and reasonably good work. Regards.
Very nice. Light, pose, composition are all excellent. Only sugestion might be to have had your camera about six inches higher. It seems were looking up her nose. A very pretty nose indeed!
Thanks folks for the comments, and suggestions. There is some detail in the black sweater she's wearing, it just doesn't show up here. Jpg compression I think.
Her sisters came in for a group shot. I asked her to sit for a minute while I popped a few shots during some printing that was taking place. I really didn't get a chance to set the lights like I wanted.
I'll have to look into the eye placement. Again thanks.
A very beautiful portrait indeed, very natural. Model has very nice hair, and very nice eyes too..
Awesome lighting also...
Here are two comments :
- I would have liked just some little detail in the blacks at the bottom left.
- The eyes are just on the middle of the picture. While this is nice with the background umbrella effect, I personnaly would have preferred if they were a little more towards the upper part of the image. This would make the composition less static.
