About	A couple of weeks ago, a major fuel distribution depot North of London caught fire. The sound of the explosion was heard as far away as the Netherlands and the clouds from the fire stretched over 70 miles from the depot. A tremendous waste - although it did not actually cause any increase in pollution levels - presumably beacuse it would all have been burnt in cars and planes anyway! This image taken from Greenham Common around 60 miles from the depot.

in this case beauty is the beast. The contrails remind me of our dependence on this stuff. Also a sense of a shooting star. A chance to wish?

Strangely beautiful... I heard about the fire (i'm originally from the UK)

I love the irony of the plane contrail in the shot - the plane 'legitimately' burning the oil wasting below :)
