Hi, Pat! Watch your six and keep your eyes open and I don't mean photography only. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Mail me at fubar@dinfo.ru. I am real interested about the stuff you might dig down there photography wise. I met one guy, James Hill who did well in Afghanistan and some other hot places. You'll have real opportunities there. And I wouldn't trust the smily locals too much even if there are good people in every country, even in a royally f..ed up one.
Take care!
Konstantin

Hey Konstantin. Long time. Nice shot. very cold. It's been cold here too.
Got a new toy last week. EOS 350D. I won't be able to do much film in my upcomping travels so I took the plunge. Having some fun with it.
Sounds like April I get sent to the desert. Be gone for a year or so. If I don't talk to you between now and then.., We'll se ya when I get back. I might have access to the net from time to time so I might be checking in...

Interesting lighting . . . Sometimes nature really works with the photographer to make a good image turn our great. I like the way you were able to capture the "tooth" bathed in light while both the background and foreground remain darker.

Hello, Jim!
Thanks for checking out!
This place is entirely different and 4 time zones east. Moscow has much, much milder weather. In fact these past years September had been quite summerlike, even first half of October.
As for this particular place, it is rather cold in winter and quite warm in Summer (+40 and sometimes over)
Regards, Konstantin

Super composition! love the bluish ice situated in front of the indgo background. Makes for a dramatic photo with the action of the river adding all the more to it
