Hi Kevin - As you can tell by looking at this series, the terrain is extremely rugged. It takes quite a while to hike in and out of this place, and in the winter there is considerably less sunlight to hike with. Next year when we go through here (the Pacific Crest Trail isn't too far away), we'll camp overnight so we can catch the magic of both sunrise and sunset.

This picture has such potential, as the composition really is beautiful but the lighting is a little harch. It must of been the time of day in which you took it. Later in the afternoon would have avoided the harsh lighting and brought out more details. Keep up the good work.
