About the Library
The German National Library of Economics is also the library of the Kiel Institute for World Economics and the World's largest library for economic literature.
The library's primary task to collect literature on economics from all over the world and to make it available it to the general public through interlibrary loan, local loan and document delivery..
You can search our collection via our catalogue ECONIS which is available for free on the web. ECONIS contains references to books, journal and book articles, working papers and electronic publications.
The library collection has over 2.6 million volumes in 50 kilometers of shelving. 50,000 volumes are added each year, including around 17,000 working papers. There are 17,000 running periodicals in the collection. In addition to that the library has links to 40,000 internet documents in its catalogue.

ECONIS with more than 2.5 million records literature searches a choice of economic literature to current topics (ECONIS Select) links to the fulltext-journals through the Electronic Journal Library EZB a variety of document delivery services, including inter-library loan, international loan and the online delivery system Subito EconBiz: a virtual subject library in cooperation with other partner-lbraries (in construction) the European Documentation Centre (EDC) with a large amount of documents and information to the European Union.
