Congrats on the POD for this. It really is beautiful.
You have a very nice portfolio.
Check this one out for something of mine along similar lines. It was a foggy day with light snow falling. But the river was completely frozen in my shot.

The thumnail really does not do justice to this beautiful composition. Love your choice of blue tone. Love how you've captured the steam hovering over the icy pond and your exposure is perfect. Congrats... :) Andree

Thanks Cernan. I took this shot about 8 am, the morning after a snowstorm. this is a river near my home. I used aperature priority set to aprox. f11 and took this shot with a telephoto to zoom in on the mist and falling snow, and to compress that wooded scene in the back. I used a cooling filter to empasize the contrasts and cold of the scene. Thanks again.

A beautiful image exuding a wonderful wintery mood. The frost covered tree branches make for a crisp and refreshing frame overhanging the cool misty water. The droplets of snow falling from the tree are a nice subtle added interest. Beautiful colour and exposure here. A lovely image and well deserved of the POD award. Congratulations Alan. Wonderful image! This "feels" like January. The depth in the image is amazing. The shape of the naked tree behind the rising fog is the true center of the picture, and perfectly exposed for it. Well done!

Thank you Kay. This is taken by telephoto, i was on the banks on dry land. It was cold though, just after an icy storm early in the morning.
Does anyone know about photos of the day? Just wondering why the photo is not the front page photo of the day which appears to be three days old. Maybe the photos of the day are photos of tommorrow??
