Ina, thanks for your comments, sure you are expressing too much appreciation for my plain shots. It was my first time to the event and I did not grasped the spirit soon enough to do good on my shots - again I had to dump many of my pictures for being blure, underexposed or missed in concept because an unpredicted car or a person just get to the scene to screw my dreamed shot. Cheers, n.j

PS - Andrzej, I saw your other pictures and you got lots of scenes in there! Wow, some portraits too! I'd be very proud if I got even half of that. You certainly have some amazing images in there! Ina

Great diagonal and cool subject and colors, Andrzej! I found out last Friday about this gathering, and it was already too dark. I was wondering the same as Andre, if there were any interesting people that you could photograph? They could be difficult to catch, though. With my cameras I'd be pretty obvious - I'm using the same trick: pretend to do another subject, and then switch, but people are always aware! And bikers are not exactly the people you want to get angry :) Great shot! Best regards, Ina

Andre, right and a kind of pretty compact camera as mine with 12x zoom is a good tool for doing the trick, but beside that you need to have good reflex shooting scenes that are only momentary, and than another challenge to keep your camera still as it would be on a tripod to get sharp images. Sure there is no room for flash use, too. Great to hear your advice. Cheers, n.j

Hi Andrzej, Sometimes it's hard to get images like this without people in them at events like this.
If you do want some human interest, I find sometimes you have to kind of fake that you are shooting the bike or car to include the person. Andre

Andre, you are right, people are more interesting for me as I'm not up to moto biking. I have spend a couple hours there last Friday trying to capture spirit of the event, but I tell you it's much easier to get good picture of bikes than do good on situational shots of people and happenings. I put a bunch of those to http://public.fotki.com/anjp/themes/friday_the_13th/ but I'm not too happy with my stuff yelded. Next time (October?) will go with a bit different strategy or won't go at all (most likely). Thanks for comments, Cheers, n.j

Hi Andrzej, These kinds of gatherings are wonderful for photo ops, as you say. Quite often the people are just as interesing as the machinery. Sometimes even more so! Andre
