Ann, thanks for your comment, it's probably rear to get this kind of wonder as it requires a couple factors happening the same time - low below freezing point temperature, snowfall and wind pushing the mist out of the falls bowl for mixture of mist and snow condensate and build up on the trees and the rails. Cheers, n.j
Hi Andrzej, I like that effect of the frozen mist! Also, to me the lack of a blue sky is not a problem in this image. Everything matches up nicely the way it is. Andre
Ann, it's kind of opportunistic shot very dependent on weather conditions and in this case the frost is actually a buildup of the mist from the falls with some fresh snow fall. The only missing from the picture is a bit of sunshine, blue skies and a rainbow over the falls. I dont think we have had this kind of conditions in Niagara this year yet. Thanks for the sweet comments, Cheers, n.j
Great image of the frozen twin trees, Andrzej! I love the frosted branches, and the view of the falls behind, and of course, the very nice touch of the decorative railing! I took a number of close-ups of the railing alone, and found the trees amazing. These look like they're huddled together under an umbrella! Very beautiful image, great colors and superb clarity! I like how the tree bark is the only warm color, everything else is in cool tones, almost monochrome. I'm waiting for the Friday the 13th pictures, you have such a great collection there, hope to see more! Best regards, Ina
Now there's a sight I don't think I've ever seen. A frozen tree. Very unusual. All the branches have droopoed down because of the weight it appears. I love the snow on the fence. I remember Ina posted a similar photo showing the railing like that. A beautiful design. Very nice image Andrzej.
