I absolutely agree with Arthur here...I love the grain and the look on here face is priceless indeed. Good printing technique. Remove those lines at the left and you hav yourself a winner for sure!

I love the pose and the use of negative space. I personally think the horizontal crop is very critical to the overall impact of the image. My own nit has to do with hot spots. I think her left shoulder fades into the picture too much. I've got the same problem with the hair in the upper right corner. You also lose texture in the left shouder that's present elsewhere on the image. It would be interesting to see the difference with a burn in those two areas. Overall, great image that makes a strong impact on the viewer.

Goodness.. this is so lovely!! The expression is so very good and looks so spontaneous.. I really think it's priceless! The way you printed it is absolutely great too. This is just one of those photos that really makes me stop and just sit down to look at it and enjoy it. There are a few nits though for me, however much I like the photo. There are some strange lines on the negative space in the left. Maybe a damaged or dirty print or something..? The second thing is that the vertical crop is quite tight, certainly compared with the horizontal one. I can't help but feeling that maybe a bit more space at least in the bottom would be good, showing just a bit more of her shoulders... Just my thoughts on a great image! Regards!

Another great one, Wallace! Her look is priceless. And I like the way you left negative space in the direction she's looking.

Thanks, Dorothy. This is a fairly normal negative printed on very high contrast paper, i.e. Agfa Brovira #5.
