hi mort ,no i dont use any filters ,i just try different exposures and getting down low to achieve a sharp strong foreground.I use CS2 to destaurate any vibrant overexposed areas.

Very cool perspective, Brian! You've created a very moody shot here. Well done! Kathy

well im flattered by your comments ,but i think the new lense im using is really starting to benefit in terms of quality of the images themselves.i used before 18-55 kit lense which in comparison produced a more softer art result . this lense certainly does not require much PS/CS2 work to get a result .its interesting i posted this image yesterday and reciieved not one comment,so out of curiosity i reposted it again today.thanks brian

Hi, Brian! Great work!
You've played with exposition in a magnifical way, i love these dark tones, darks, but full of detail! and yes, this light is very magical! my eyes start to watch the grain of the wood on the pier, then, lost on that beautiful dark sky.... surrounded by an introspective silence... congrats, Brian!, this shot really deserve an award, i hope so.... for the moment, i put it straight on my favorites... Ciao Davide
