Cheers Phil! Thanks for that :) These boys just idolise their dad... hard to resist pointing the lens at them.
And so it appears I get yet another 5 minutes of fame on the fp for shooting my mouth off! LOL!!
Take care mate!

Oh, Rina, I just noticed this image on the front page. What a fantastic image! This one is not too big for his boots - just too big for his bat! LOL A wonderful capture!
Cheers

Start 'em young, Rina, that's the way. It's amazing to me that the Japanese, otherwise so intelligent, should have opted for baseball, not cricket, as their national game! But in the land of hurry-hurry, I suppose it makes sense to choose a game where you can have a double-header in one afternoon and evening instead of one where a FAST match lasts from 10:00am to 6:00pm, and internationals last five days...

Hello you lovely, desirable girl, I'll play bat and ball with you any day of the week!! This is a great piece of humour and memory for me. I can remember when a cricket bat was bigger than me, but only just! I love the concentration showing in their little faces. Well done to you sweetie a lovely little action shot. Huge hugs and a big kiss to my Kiwi babe.....Ray

Haha! Funny you should mention that David... their mum is an aussie girl (getting so you can't go anywhere in Auckland without bumping into one of our sort), so ya never know, could be the next Waugh brothers in training here!
Cheers mate :)

.....this is delightful Rina, as you observe the position of the boys adds greatly to the overall composition in a very interesting way....I wonder if they are destined to play one day, one day, against a far off place....like Australia or is just another shot of a couple of old bats?! sorry, I'll go back in the other room, cheers, david.

Thanks Janet! These little blokes gave me a good workout, chasing them around as they played :)) Glad you likey. Yeah, I would normally go for a touch of gaussian to add a dreamy/soft quality, but this time didn't really want to lose the sharpness. Just reduced the opacity of the desat layer to 50% then experimented with the glow on it. Have played around with this filter before, but never really liked the results. So, I understand what you mean about avoiding it. Works to a certain degree here, but I won't be using it often!

Oh the concentration! Great capture of these little ones Rina. In a few years they will be playing just like the big guys. Nice exposure on the shot too. Susie

You did wonders with the diffuse glow - something I avoid like the plague....how did you do that??! This along with the full sun/shadows, you have nailed it! Love the position on the boys and the whole feel of determination! Well done, Rina!

Bella, una foto veramente simpatica. Quello che sembra uno sporto estremamente serioso praticato da due bambini.

This is so cute, Rina!!! I don't mind the cut off bat much, because it is the one in the back. I love the muted colors and the looks of concentration on their faces! Kathy

Great action shot, Rina! They are so cute with their little hats and barefoot! I love the way you caught the (paddles?) at opposite angles, and the ball - my eye travels in a zig-zag from one ball to another on the grass, and from shadow to shadow, great composition with angles and movement! Cheers, Ina
