Yoshiyuki, the winters are typically very mild on the south west coast of Canada. However, there is plenty of snow on the mountains and ski slopes. It is said that the Vancouver area, Fraser Valley, is the only place in the world where one can play golf and ski on the same day. Regards! Eb

This is indeed pastoral! I only wonder at it in the middle of the Canadian winter!Anyway, everything seems to be upside down with the climate! It really helped the polarizer! The colours are great! YT

Ina, I am pleased that you enjoyed the picture. I know the scenery is great in the Fraser Valley, but it also helps to have rose coloured glasses, (i.e. polarizer and photoshop.) :) Eb

Hi Eb, if you keep showing scenes like these, I'll pack my bags and move to Chilliwack :) Superb landscape and saturated colors! I love the grass, the tree bark and the wonderful lighting. Excellent clarity and view of the mountain framed by the tree! Best regards, Ina

Pat, there is no perceivable noice difference between ISO 200 and 400, as far as I can tell, on the D70s. However, I should have used the tripod anyways - it always is the best practice. I did have some oily residue on the sensor which I noticed affected the sky tones in some shots. Hey, I use Tiffen too for my 67mm. filter. The 12-24 required a 77mm. filter and I splurged on a B&W. It does have a thinner profile and a better choice for the 12-24. I find in my 18-70, the Tiffen very slightly vignettes. The glass does not have the same quality coating, if any - but less than half the price of the B&W. Thanks for your thoughtful comment. Eb

Eb - Nice vivid colors. Try doing this with ISO set on 200 (using a tripod of course). I like the results from my polarizer (Tiffen). It was considerably cheaper than a Nikon. Just not qite as effective as the Nikon polarizer.

Thanks Dave. The new polarizing filter helps with the colour potential. Alas I am two hundred dollars poorer. This scene was from last week. It is more like winter again! Eb

amazing colors and very nice composition. The picture is really nicely layered, and the tree trunk connects the blue and the green in a great way together. It also shows that the picture has a great depth in it. The light and shadows on the tree are also faboulous. Over all: well done! A pleasure to look at.
