Michael Kanemoto,
Again I'm sorry for not responding sooner...but to answer your question, it is a night vision device that goes on my camera just like a lens. It is called "Night Owl"...it comes with a 50mm lens...or you can attach other lens to it as well...the older "night Owls" use to give the circle effect...the newer ones are full frame...I hope that answer your question...again sorry for taking so long to get back to you on that....
Best Wishes, Chuck

I think some of the questions dodge this essential point - HOW do you get the nightvision on your D1X? Are you just pointing the lens down a scope?
I think some technical points need to be added if your improvising these...

...and just as I clicked add comment I spotted Dave's comment about night vision equipment.

I've noticed the green cast in some of your night images, what causes that?

The tinting of the night vision equipment always lends a sense of drama to these shots, Chuck! Dave.
