Hi kp, I don't really have too much of an opinion of how this type of media would be accepted. I'm sure that you would see images matched to poetry in less serious publications. You know, like fancy coffee table books and magazines. Not that it is a bad thing. I would imagine that serious poets would probably insist that their words be enough, and images are not part of the plan. Other media artists would be open to anything.
If I were you, I would keep honing both skills until you feel confident that you have something that will really impress the editors. Just keep trying... and Good Luck! Andre

Yeps. Thanks Andre. Glad we keep many a similar views. I just love this song, & this pic just had to go with it without any doubts. I also found the pic to be quite interesting, so I thought they'll do justice to each other. :)
I am also thinking on if the reverse will also be true. I mean, I do poetry.. I have also compiled a book on it. Though in india finding publishers for a fresh author is very difficult, but anyways, I was adviced by a few people to club some of my photographs along with some of my poems. Though my photography is still not at all professional, but the other point is also that I have never seen this in any real poetry books. Poetry books are just plain poetry books. Probably that's the beauty of them. That's how they are supposed to be. In that case I'll keep mine just as it is as well. But I am trying to know other's view as well. What's your say Andre?
Thanks for your time & encouragement.
Regards kp

Hi Kp, I find, like you, that it is usually a pretty good idea to attach a related song verse, poem, or something else that relates to the image. We all know a picture is worth a thousand words. But, we can still help the mood along with a thoughtful "about" section. Good choice with the Pink Floyd lyric. Andre

Thanks nessa! Though I do poetry, but these words are not mine.. It's written by members of the band Pink Floyd. :)
It's a lovely song. Here'r the full lyrics to it--
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in the relative way, but you’re older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way The time is gone, the song is over, thought I’d something more to say
Home, home again I like to be here when I can And when I come home cold and tired It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
:) Glad you liked the connection b/w the image & the words!
Regards. kp
