Dear Elisa, you are exaggerating! I just wanted to see what happens if I put it into the CC. Now I know: even more work with the replies, lol.

Kind regards, Markus

The shadows made this scene look lovely and do provide a natural contrast. Still enjoying winter atmosphere through your work.
Beautiful place and capture.

Marcus it's just gorgeous. I wish I could give a long meaningful critique, but I just plain like it. Don't know why, and I don't know anything I would change in it. ) The exposure looks really good, you've got these snow shots down to a science!

Sorry, Markus, I didn´t notice yesterday that this was a CC image! I didn´t give a nice long meaningful critique. (On the other hand, I don´t copy and paste "critiques" ... I just noticed that one of the commenters in this thread pasted his 17th identical comment today!!!) What I really like here is 1) the light, 2) the light and 3) the light! Of course the frosty trees and bushes add a lot to the mood, as well as the partially dark sky. Exquisite is the right word to characterize this image :)

The funny thing: even with my reply I can raise my score;) The second, not so funny thing: the skieuse lies sick in bed with a cold:(

I was not so good to express my thought, i was talking about the golden cut....that the tree would hit the snow in a "golden cut" and the shadow begins there... BUT, ithink it´s great as it is... i´m a compo freak as youi know :)

Here you see, Kathy, how different the personal taste is. Look at the comment of Jeanette, asking for quite the opposite of you. Thanks anyway.

Thanks, Jeanette, for this very thoughtful comment. I understand what you mean, but I have no idea, how I would have applied it to the shot. Especially how to have only 2/3 of the shade vertically. I should have done it maybe at the time of the shot. But, skiing up and down, I normally are quite happy if I can make a picture without too much blur;-)

I like the backlight ing here and the dhadow reaching against the spectator. The hill behind and the tones are great. Maby if i WOULD change something i should arrange the shadow of the tree so it takes 2/3 of the shot at both horisontal and vertical... also a more square crop would make it stronger. Thats just the crop. Otherwise i like the exposure and backlightning.

Very nice lighting in this one, Markus! Personally I would crop some off the bottom...right at the point where the shadows become less distinct. But, of course, that is just a personal preference. Another good one!

There is only good things to say about this image. It is beautiful, and what makes me like it more is the lack of footprints or disturbances in the snow. Well Done!

This is a beautiful scene. It could just be my old, tired eyes, but... I get the impression that the image is slanted to the right. The colors, light and details are all good.

Great shot Markus!! Exposure looks to be bang on, great shadows on the snow and just a well balanced picture overall. I feel like i am right there, sloshing through the snow (though I'm not in the cold!!) Cheers, Gary

Another great snow/winter pic Markus!! The colors and textures are great, so is the composition... maybe getting the shadows even darker would've been more true to the title, but overall a good one... well done!!

Thanks, Aragorn, for your comment. The original image was lighter, but I adjusted the levels to better bring out the shades.
