Victorian Gothic Revival has left its marks all over England, and some of the buildings are very impressive. This is a good example. The fine detail has been very well rendered in this shot. Japan was a little too late opening its doors to the West to get caught in this architectural style, although there are some later buildings that seem to hark back to it.

These grey stone buildings with the various colors metal roofs are quite an eye catcher, so pretty.

I really like bricks and the different textures and colours. Great to be able to see so much here- makes it almost 3D. Most of the windows being so opaque gives it a mysterious air.

Some beautiful architecture George!!!I don't like the fact the bottom windows and doors are cut in half but that may be due to the fact You didn't want cars or distractions included?
Looks like a copper roof! Nice!

to be quite precise, this is the East Block of the Parliament buildings in Ottawa. The building was constructed in 1864 as the administrative building for the entire Government of Canada (we didn't need as much back then...). The building is constructed in the Victorian Gothic revival style. Damn my past life as a tour guide on Parliament Hill...
