I agree that the grainy effect gives it an "old fashioned" flair. My first thought was of a newspaper print.

John, first of all, thank you for your comment. I added grain because the image was slightly out of focus. Unfortunately, I didn't have a tripod and the light was getting low. I will take your suggestion though and see what I can do.

I think this is potentially a very good image. You say you added grain, but I would be interested to know why. I do think B&W was a good choice, but you might consider increasing the contrast in order to make this more of a silhouette. Some sharpening could also be in order. John

Love it!! Great B&W tones, wonderful view and patterns, good composition... well done!!! The grain together with the B&W conversion gives this a 'old' almost timeless look, very nice!!! The only nitpick: I would crop the bottom part a bit tighter (or clone) to get rid of those trees/bushes that are just sticking into the frame, and thus creating a cleaner image... well I would... ;-D
