About After reading Shirley and Hugo's comments on the previous upload of this one, I decided to crop it as suggested and must say I like it - Thank you guys!!

A Painted reed frog sleeping on a Anthirium flower - the same individual as in the previous uploads.

Used the Nikon SB-R200 close-up flash system. One unit from camera angle (1/2 power), second unit from underneath at 45 degree angle (full power to give the translucent appearance to the leaf). Colours are natural - Minimal cropping and adjustment in PS.

Thanks Philip - Appreciated but I can assure you we are all learning here! The day one thinks you're better than others you should leave this site, because then you cannot add any value any more. Take care my friend - I like your style and unique perspective on the world around you!

Joggie, it is very flattering for a photographer of your calibre to comment on my work!!! I am really a rank amateur, who occasionally flukes a good image!

Your portfolio is filled with stunning, incredible images. Congratulations on your awards - they are well deserved!

Cheers

Yeah, but look at that background... reads solid 255 on my screen... black is black, nasty, totally isolates the subject!

Thanks Taran - you are right, it does it CR123's especially at f18 and higher. One of the few shortcomings of the system in my opinion. Regards.

Hard not to admire this shot, jealous you ahve the Sb-R200, at f/22 does it eat CR123's?

Excellent colors, the first thing I notice with great details on the frogs skin. He looks really sad or tired but find the red is too saturated taking focus aways from the main subject. Keep up the good work.

Thanks again Hugo, I myself was unsure originally about the crop but still wanted to keep the stamen on the left (previous upload) because I thought it anchor the frog in some way. After doing the crop though, I was also convinced.

So, as you can see, even though your sentence was a bit funny, the message came through loud and clear - Thanks for a forum like Usefilm! Regards.

Hi Joggie, Even though I was a bit unsure at first, seeing the cropped version, I do believe it's much better in both it's composition as well as in placing the emphasis on the primary subject.... Very cool indeed!

Cheers,

Hugo
