About
Maybe not a great landscape shot but eloquently shows the epicormic shoots.. what is interesting to note is that these trees were burnt in 2003. Recently on a weekend away we drove through bushland that was burnt in January this year and the epicormic shoots were about as long as the ones in this shot.. why then are these so stunted..? These tress are at higher altitude and inland and the area has been in almost continuous drought since 2003 whereas the others are closer to the coast so the climate is milder and here had been recent good heavy falls of rain and some minor flooding.. fickle eh?
Thanks Dubravko.. this one is really an explantion shot around the shooting mechanism that Eucalypt tress have it does however show that not all survive
