About Then I saw it… it came into my view… I clearly must have jumped… a figure all hunched… face so grotesquely twisted as if fearing the very knowledge of something it had seen… or he had seen as the case may once have been… the stone monk stood praying before the windowless arch… as if praying for his very life.

Then I saw it… & all fell to place
I rubbed my eye
What’s that I see?
A tear, that monk... he was crying for me!

to be continued...

Q.P., Thanks for setting me straight on your "about" and responding back to my comment. I'll have to check out the rest of series. All the best to you.

It's a really nice shot. The subject seems almost to be frozen, unable to engage in the beauty of the life that exists around it. It's a striking image. The one change I might make would be to lighten the foreground. This would make the sculpture become more a part of the picture and less simply the frame for the beautiful scene in the background.

Again, nicely composed, Sue, and I like the background you've got here, it really adds to the atmosphere of the statue, and your continuuing story....
Dave.

Hi Sam... thank you for your comment.

Please note the about is part of a story, that starts all the way back at my 'Priory Hill'... to add a bit more interest to this series...
No true history I'm afraid... loved this Monk when I stumbled upon him.. guess you could say he was the inspiration behind this 'ghostly tale'.

Thank you once again.
Keep well & bright
Quix xx
