You know I get very frustrated being on usefilm, probably more so than anyone.

I think I stopped posting for the longest time cause I just felt like my images sucked. But I think this may be a bit of what you might be going through yourself.

I really do like the image of the swan and the crop is fantastic.

I'm not sure what people are looking for or what usefilm see's in an image to make it worthy of an award - which I have absolutely none of.

I get frustrated more I think that anyone. But I have received some compliments that really make me feel good about what I have posted. I got one such post from Rob Graziano once where he was one of the first ones to comment on an image and he felt that I should get some award for it.

With Rob saying that alone, I felt like I got my award in his words.

You can try all you want to please someone else, but the only person you need to really please is yourself. If you feel good about the work that you did, that's all that matters.

So I basically now post images that I like myself. They might not be the best, but neither are some images I have seen on here. I often wonder what makes my images that much different than some I have seen win awards.

Eventually I'd like to get an award of some kind. Going to the award summary screen thinking maybe I missed something is getting pretty old now. LOL!

You do a fantastic job with images. My favorites still are you niece's first communion picture and your subway shots. You leave a lasting impression of your work.

Don't give up or get frustrated. You'd probably be surprised how mnay people have the same issues of what am I doing wrong as you do. I know I'm one of them.

Lisa, I'm losing my mind! I'm all but bitter....I lie, I am bitter! I thought this shot was fantastic, and yours was one of only 2 comments and only 8 views. Either I have terrible taste photographically or I don't know where I'm going wrong. You know, you can't change the wind, you can only change your sail, and for the life of me I can't move my sail to save my life lately. Are animal shots not cool? Is it a technique issue? Do you have to find a way for thumbnail to be radically different from the image? Is a swan so common at this distance that its not noteworthy ? I'm perplexed.
Frustrated and yet very appreciative

Excellent tight crop.

I'm jealous I didn't get the 2.8 when I got my lens.
