Don, next time check behind the little doors. Hey, if it's gold it'll be worth it and if it's dead people they won't care!
This looks to have a bit of a tilt to it. Could be me it's early in the morning. I like it though, gives it kind of an erie feeling.
Those little ledges up high between the windows, the tops and bottoms of the pictures, and the edges of the floor all form lines that lead you into the shot....to a black door at the end.
hmmm...what's behind door number one? This must be "Monty Hall"!

Hi again Don......sounds somewhat similar to the Image Stabliser on the Canon lenses. I did own a couple of those a few years back in the L series of lenses but they were too heavy for me in the end. I use mainly the lighter primes these days and zoom myself in and out by my feet:):):) Cheers to you my friend.....Ray

Very nicely exposed...clear from here to there! I figure if you can't get that little slant out it's meant to be there :-) Actually I think sometimes we get too caught up in having something architecturally perfect and miss the good things in the image. Regards, as always, Larry

Hi Ray, The thing that saved me on that trip was the 24-120 Vibration Reduction lens. They say that it is the same a 3 stops correction. Which would mean if you were shooting at 1/60 second you would effectively be shooting at 1/250th second. I would surely recommend that lens to anyone having trouble hand holding a camera and when you can't carry a tripod. Thanks Ray for your wonderful comments. Most appreciated. Don.

Excellent shot Don and I love the subtle exchange of cobblestones for this wonderful tiled floor. The composition is one of stunning perspective and incredible depth...Well done to you my friend. I was amazed to read that you didn't use a tripod during your entire trip. When I think of some of your compositions that is fantastic and deserves another well done. I treated myself to a very expensive light weight carbon fibre tripod when it became apparent that I couldn't handle my camera without shaking a lot of the time. It is nuisance to carry extra gear but it is so often a great shot saver. My very best wishes to you dear friend as always......Ray

It's in need of an ever-so-slight counter-clockwise rotation to true horizontal, Don.
Nicely seen!

I must have been drinking that day.. I think the illusion is the window on the right is distorted by the lens. I have tried to correct some of the distortion but can't get all of it out. I haven't looked at the f stop but I don't think it was that small. This was hand held as I never got the tripod out the entire trip. Thanks for all your very nice comments. Don.

If anyone ever wanted to see an example of the effects of a small aperture, this would be a great image to study! And nice tones, Don! It seems to me that the image leans to the right, and would benefit from a bit of straigtening. (I just read the comments and see that Petal noticed that, too!) Kathy

Fantastic architectural shot Don!!! Lovely colors, wonderful perspective, exposure is spot on, excellent composition... well done!!! The only nitpick... you're leaning to the right a bit, must be because you took this trip by boat... LOL!!! Rotating it 1 to 2 degrees counter clockwise would do the trick and those tiny doors... probably (fire) escape 'hatches'...

Hi Doyle, I have no idea what those doors are. Maybe they keep the gold in there??? Another use is maybe they bury people in them..Just kidding. Thanks for your great comments Doyle, they are most appreciated. Have been busy so short on comments lately. Don.

Great perspective shot and nice capture of the design and warm colors on the flooring. Window light definitely is a plus, but so are the wood accents, like the bench on the right. A curious point are what appear to be little doors along the left. Regards - Doyle I

Beautiful lighting here, Don, and great perspective looking down the hall. It looks like a beautiful building, with the light reflecting on the highly polished floors and art work on the walls. Dave.
