Thanks for the comments and suggestion James ~ the line sounds like a good idea as long as I can keep it steady (usually breezy around here!) ~ have fun playing with your decanter but it can be addicting ~ LOL!

I think you'll be hard pressed to improve upon this one, but you could try using fishing line to suspend the stopper. It can be rendered invisible given the proper conditions. Anyway, think I'll try something like this. I think I have a crystal decanteur around here somewhere...

This is a wonderful creative idea Susie and I love the strong rich colour you have captured. I am not quite sure about Messrs Hankel and Doyle's expectations or if I've missed their point in some way. I think your use of a clear wine decanter? to capture two images of the sunflower is fantastic. Well done you. Very best wishes..Ray

Thank you Hankel and Doyle ~ great idea to try your suggestions.. now i just need to figure out how to 'prop up' the top when it isn't attached to the bottle ~ LOL! cheers, susie

Really neat Susie . . . I like the upside down drop idea Hankel mentioned. This image also is cool in that there seems to be nothing else in the world by that sunflower . . . no other reflections to distract. Nicely Done! Congratulations.

It's brilliant! Now this and Dan Lightner's Sun "Flower 101" are my favourite sunflower photos in usefilm. Nevertheless I think you can obtain a better result if the glass is smoother. Also, it may be an interesting attempt to take the picture without the bottle and rotate it upside down, so that you can create an illusion of shooting the image of a big raindrop.

Thanks Tiago ~ I used a large silk sunflower then moved the bottle around until I got a good capture ~ shot outside in sunny-bright conditions. Cheers for commenting :) susie
