Very aptly titled, Laura, and a really nice use of sepia. The composition is terrific, as is the tonal balance. And I want that lion for my yard! :>) Steve

Very nice! I would only add a bit more surroundings, to enhance your intention of showing the decay but this is something that one can always say when not having seen what the surroundings was.
Best wishes and keep it up!

Yes I like the tone and image. The growth around the subject adds to the composition.

I think it is a good example of photographic journalism and it depicts how readily we allow things to go into decline with no-one prepared to take responsibility for restoration or tidying. I think you have done well to present in these soft sepia-like tones. Well done to you Laura, sorry I am behind with comments..busy, busy. Very best wishes to you....Ray

Nice tones Laura. Really a sad statement of good things gone bad through neglect. I hope someone cleans him up! Susie

Gee thanks Ron, you're lucky I consider you a friend although I am considering reporting you for abuse :( Actually, I'm glad you caught the point of the photo. This lion used to sit proudly before the doors of a fancy establishment. Now it is an abandoned building, with garbage everywhere, overgrown bushes and graffitti on the wall. I knew you were an artist. Laura

This photo is a mess. I don't know where to look first. The ladder is distracting in the bg and that stick is distracting in the foreground. I'm glad it's in black and white.
