Hi Susie, On first glance I thought the same as Laura. There seems to be a strong element of sadness here. But I would bet it is more a matter of catching the little girl in mid expression. Regardless of the circumstance of the photo, it is a very emotive shot. The highlights in the harir are great. But as you say, a shame about the shadow under the chin.
