I don't mind if it isn't sharp, I like it anyway and I think the unsharpness gives just that little feeling of mystery I have about the moom.

John,

This is a scan of a print. When I get my negatives organized I'll rescan. In August the first quarter moon is low in the sky. At the time of the photo it was at an altitude of about 13 deg. I believe that the atmosphere was also quite unsettled that evening. This limits the sharpness attainable. I doubt the speed of the film has any effect on the sharpness. It is hard to tell if the focus was the best attainable. With a telescope the f/stop is changed by adding a tele-extender or tele-reducer (there is no diaphragm), a wider stop would mean less magnification.

maybe it's that barlow lens (or the scan, perhaps)...but i wish this were sharper. you'd have a great photo if it were super-crisp! or maybe it's the film...i have no idea. can you use a wider f stop and use a slower film, maybe?
