HI Lisa, Thank you for the comments. I did take a few shot's that day, to see what the G2 could do, or what i could do with it, as you can see, this was a very bright sunny day. I did like the fact that i could try and shoot this man feeding the birds, I tried for a small DOF, and stop down to control the light, that did not work, overexpossed way to much, So i had to use a large f stop in oder to expose in the right light, and freeze the flying gulls. Then i was going to try the flash, but the batteries ran low. LOL. And now I have have to take the camera in for repairs, i droped it, and cracked the lens plasic casing, my wife is not happy.LOL
Ray: I am certainly not a professional and could be wrong, but I don't think this photo is busy at all. I think it is a very fascinating capture. I love how you have captured the birds in mid-air. I am sure you took several shots at this location and those shots probably do not have the distracting elements that others seem to be worried about here (which is their opinion -- no problem). However, in my opinion this photo is very well done in itself and I'm glad you shared it with us.
Thanks for the consuctive comments, Yes you are right. The Cannon G2 was a new camera for my wife,( i droped and broke it 2 days ago)i was out experimenting, it shoots well, i just don't have full controle of the thing yet.I mostly shoot with 35mm film cameras. And your opinions is excellent GJ. Thank you.
Ray, just a few comments from my amateur perspective. The idea here is great. I would have taken probably two or three rolls of film at that site, with different f-stops, angles (composition and back grounds), closer in, etc. The area looks like a great photo place. To me, in this shot the background is maybe too "busy," too much going on overall (?) I am no pro by any stretch, just an opinion.
oooh! is this where they filmed some of 'Big' - one of my favourites. And the picture? Nice. I think a little too bright overall. I love the middle seagull, eyeing up the guy & waiting his chance. Very nice! H:)
