It's funny Wallace, but I didn't even notice the white pants until Julien pointed them out. And I think he's right. The pants do have a nice texture to them, but they are overwhelmingly bright. Her gaze really mesmorized me as well, so thank God my computer goes to screensaver after only 25 minutes. (Ha Ha...) But it is really engaging. Thanks for the moment. Shyfox
It might not be perfect to some in terms of photography, but I think it is beautiful and I like that you tell us the settings you use Wallace. She's a beautiful subject and I really like the lighting. That is just a gut reaction, though, and not an analyzation. Don't feel like doing that since I am not qualified to critique your beautiful work.
It's a nice portrait, but I dont find this photo as convincing as some of your other work. Why? I think there are a couple of elements competing for attention. How is this to be seen? A dark photo, with subtle contrast differences... the blacks being very dark, but you can still make out the difference from the background... and then all of a sudden the white clothing that contrasts very much.
Then I'm not sure either if she should look in the camera. If we just forget about the white pants for a moment. What we have is, as I said, the subtle differences in dark colours, but also her beautifull long hair that is also an important line in the photo's composition. Another subtle element is the slightly open mouth... creating some sort of tension that keeps makes the viewer look at the image longer, (IMO). But then we have her eyes, she seems to look directly in the camera. I think this absorbs much of the attention of the viewer, making the other elements I named less important. They kind of fade away because she looks in the camera. Maybe you intended this, but you know, eyes are strong... it's always important to think if you want them to be the main subject or the ambiance created by a whole. Because if the model doens't look in the camera... or at the viewer, then he is not adressed to directly and he can concentrate more on the ambiance.
