Thanks Tim. Nice to hear from you after a long time. I try to follow the rule of thirds in many of my shots but sometime I experiment in frames that brake that rule. This was one of them. I wanted to get some more of the other smaller tree but this was all I could get in this frame.

I have to say that this composition is to even to make the best use of this tree. I find that the trunk is too central. If your subject is more to one side or the other then you will be creating a tension within the framing of your photo which is generally more intriguing to the eye. With the inclusion of the other smaller tree it does make a bit more interest but not enough to satisfy my visual interest. Mind you, these things are subjective and you will know in your heart if what I am saying strikes you with a truth for your eye. If it doesn't listen to that over what I say, as that is how you create your unique perspective
