Hi Pat.....thank-you for looking in, though I am a little puzzled as to what motivated you to do so if you have such an aversion to floral work. Due to my somewhat poor physical health these days I am restricted to pottering around our garden most of the time with the occasional portrait sessions in our conservatory. This is a mighty fine shot - it looks like some sort of exotic fruit or sea creature. The drops (especially the central ones) give an extra dimension to the image. I don't generally go for floral shots unless they do something different - and this one definitely does. Congrats on the award!

Hi Ray, I'm generally speaking not a huge fan of florals, but I find this one pretty impressive. I like how the crystallike water drop attracts the attention, and I'm impressed by the extremely high image quality where sharpness is concerned. Good DoF, and a well balanced composition. Not only the crystallike drop, but also the others add a great deal to the appeal of this image. I think if you'd increase the brightness and saturation a notch, the impact and clarity of the image might possibly make the impact eof this photo even stronger.

Such a lovely macro Ray! You always seem to get such great detail in your macros. The water droplets are superb! I haven't been able to master such detail in any of my water droplet macros.

Beautiful composition with very good clarity, so much depth in it, the pistils details are very well seen. I like the droplets of water especially the three very clear ones on the inside.. It feels so near looking at it that i can imagine the fragrance of the magnolia..

Well, it took me awhile to figure this shot out. For a time I kept thinking there was a sense of floating, but I couldn't figure out what it was.
You've made the viewer feel like a bee! It's a bee's eye view as it's flying into the flower!
This may be caused by the converging lines and focus/DOF, but I really don't know. I like the macro view and I don't think the full flower shot would give the the same sense of being inside.

Ok, now that I've achieved my goal, I can relax and get into it with you ;)
Love it love it love it... :)) Seriously, I've not seen anything like it before. Oh sure, there's always florals about with a few little droplets of water blardy blardy blah, BUT, none that look as perfectly enchanting as this. Almost as though there should be a respectful hush when viewing, so as not to disturb the delicate balance... You amaze me Ray and another one directly to my favs...
