About Manu, Michael Kanemoto and myself have each worked on one single image, each of us adding his personal touch to that same image without being aware of what the others were doing to the same original photo. I'll leave it up to you to determine who created which image - for now.

We're looking for feedback, so please share your thoughts, and let us know which digigraphy you prefer. Also, your feedback in what each of these photos tells you would be very much appreciated.

It needs no explanation that each of these three shots were digitally manipulated, and quite heavily so. I'll post the original photo under each of the three images.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Dave,

Eventhough I like this too, I think Saeed has a good point; the difference in blur is a bit unnatural, and I think panning the camera would show a different type of motion. Yet, the sole fact that it's rather ambiguous is something I consider to be a good thing.

I noticed that wird thing again, and would agree on the collision; yet if you look at the image differently, you can also perceive it as being already behind the wheel. I think it's the dust (also edited in, of course) that is rather confusing here.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!

Cheers,

Hugo

Very good idea, I really like this. I disagree with Saeed about the foreground having been blurred. The blurring of the foreground actually gives the appearance of speed on the car itself, as if you panned to take the shot, keeping the car in focus while blurring the environment.

The only thing that I felt wierd about was the object in the foreground (which Saeed circled). It would seem there's about to be a pretty major collision.

Great job,
Dave

k...stopped by after long absence and see this party going on. Oh what fun I have been missing. What a terrific idea THIS is!!!!!!!!! You've received plenty of input by now as I'm late to the fiesta, so I'll just state my glee over the exercise and take it all in save say that for me the inclusion of the car is a surprise and pleasing. The backdrop offers lots of possibilities and the route you took is fitting. Oh...maybe it's not you?! We are to guess at which of the three did what. I've got my work cut out for me. Hugs. Antonia

Hi Anna, Good point, The blur on the car doesn't quite match the lensbaby scene, and I really should put some more effort in this, if only the issue Saeed pointed out (the difference in focus at the right front tire) could be resolved. Thanks for the feedback!

Cheers,

Hugo

the concept is interesting but the elements chosen to put together, would create a more dynamic visual statement if only you could 'manipulate' the lensbaby effect on the car to match the scenery. is this still a work in progress?

Hi Hugo! Your PS ability is quite impressive! Whether or not it merits all of your efforts in this case is debatable. ;-)

Buontempo !

You enjoyed a lot with this crazy "rally".
A little bit unnatural (as you wrote...really heavily digitally manipuated) but there's a good sense of dynamic.

Hi Hugo,

Great idea but more then that you really embody the idea of interaction between image-makers from around the world, you pretty much are the definative Usefilm member!

Great idea again.

Excellent idea Hugo. I immediately recognised the lensbaby effect. I agree with Saeed on the focus of the grass in front of the car. The first thing that caught my eye though, is the 'ghost' line around the front wheel, while the direction of light and the shadow on the branches does not seem to corellate with the light and shadow on the bonnet and windscreen. Nonetheless, it's and image I really enjoyed since I drove a Citroen Pallas and DS20/5 for more than 15 years - magic machines!

Hi Hugo,

well, what a great vision to combine different styles and then to merge these ideas into a single image. 10/10 for the idea.

Regarding the image, Saeed mentioned the point that I've seen, too. The differences in focus hinder the image to be seen as an "organic" one. The manipulation is obvious there. But anyway, I like the dynamics in this picture a lot. The alternate color style from Michael is something that gives the image a different thrill which I appreciate.

Hi,Hugo
This is the part I mentioned should be within the same focus of the car.as in reality the focusing distance will include the close surrounding to the main subject.
Saeed
Ps. see attch.

Hi Saeed, thanks for the feedback. And I agree with you about the sharpness. And there are a few more flaws, but they're more visible in the large image. I'd give it a 7 out of 10...:) Per attached the photo of the car. The missing parts were created from scratch in Photoshop.

Cheers,

Hugo

As this is one of my prefer works, of editing, it caught my attention just to see the skillful behind it :)the idea can get 9 of 10,,realy like it, but there is a small "defect”. any works can not be perfect, the selective second image was not enough in focus especially the part close to the car should be in focus so to fit within the sharp details of the car and close to reality.
Otherwise done with excellent thought and skills.

IF i hadn´t know that it´s manipulated i hadn´t been thinking about it. But now i can see it along the branches and leaves....Otherwise a very good work and good action result. Dusty and and feeling of a car captured ("froozen" as we call it sweden...) in it´s speed.

I like the DS19. I think it really add something that the Lensbaby shot lacks... sharpness, a point of interest? A great improvement.

Death Valley...Citroen DS...wonderful combination of the two...mmmm....whose could this be....I wonder.

But I must admit the angle of the car fits very well with the new background and I believe the DS was used as a rally car...way back, well before my time.

Well done, old chap
