Hi James, thanks for stopping by. I am going to post the original image of this. It was taken with an 80-400 tokina lens at about 170mm. I didn't have the camera straight when it was taken. The sky was so uninteresting that it had to be replaced. Other than that it is pretty much as taken. Thanks, Don.

this photo is very sharp and very clear, i do like it. the colours look slightly different than what i'd expect for desert photography tho, the sky at least. did you use any polarizer here? judging by the shadows, and the colours here, it must be an afternoon shot. anyway, as you've corrected some other images, i'll have a look at those.

Hi Steve, I have submitted another with a little more contrast so that might help. I couldn't wait for the light. It was mid afternoon when this was taken. We were in the Mystery Valley area for the evening shots. I tried to warm this one but it looks phony when you try warming something that is not supposed to be.. Don.

Hi Aurobindo, thanks so much for your nice comments. I have submitted another version with a little more contrast. I tried warming this but it just doesn't look natural. This was t aken with a 80-400 mm lens so it was quite some distance from where I was. they were probably at least a mile away or more. The sky was very bland so that has been replaced. Don.

Nice perpective, Natural colors. Most of dessert photos, including mine, looks very saturated with unnatural colors. This is not so. But I would prefer use of multiple exposure to bring out the shadows and a slight warming filter 81A or 81B to get rid of the midday blue cast.

A great view, Don, and I love the clouds in the sky. I agree with the consensus though...it has a hazy look to it. Really good composition!

Hi Don, as ususal an interesting image. I very much like the composition and 3D quality it has. It suffers from the wrong light though. It looks overexposed but even more so, it looks to have been taken in the middle of the day. It's crying for the warm light of sunrise/sunset

Great scene. The lighting looks a bit harsh. Perhaps an early morning or late afternoon shot would yield better lighting. As for your image it looks a bit washed out. Perhaps adjusting the contrast would help minimize that washed out look.
After seeing this I'm intrigued to see more of your images. It looks like you have a great eye.

A stunning example of the light and shadow play on these rocks and pillars, Don! Very well captured, and the one cloud formation sets the scene off perfectly!
