sorry for this late reply but i saw yours just now ...
but as i written previously it s obvious that it was not their war it was imperial countries britain france s war... we had been surronded by the winners of 1. world war
and canakkale was crossroads and i accept their brave .... but as you said that war was not for a better world it was for making strongs stronger...
im sorry if i hurt your feelings but i said it just doesnt makes sense...

This is a terrific image.
What an interesting comment from Erdem.
We remember the bravery, unflinching loyalty and courage of those young men who believed that they were ensuring a safe and good world, safe from tyranny for their children and children's children.......

This is my favourite of your images. I like the guys that are out of time with the rest. Well presented. Cathy

"we will remember them, lest we forget...."
i never did understand the Anzac Day. those men did not even know why had they come for and who will they kill instead of the emperial countries they had died in Çanakkale in my history we remember Anzac Day with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words he says an dead anzac soldier " what were you doing here my son? you are now our son but i wish you had not been here."
i ama sorry for them too but i just dont get you to be proud of caanakkale defeat it just doesnt make sense....

A fantastic image, Christopher! Great comp!

I see you are from Orange. I know that area very well. My parents live there. We recently sold a block of land out at Ploughmans Hill estate.

Great to see you here! I'll add you to my friends list!

Cheers

Phil

Great shot, good idea! Couple of different coloured boots there! Did you have to get up early for it? I have to admit to missing it. I was up at dawn but spent the morning watching swallows of all things!!
