You are right...It was close. I was about 100 feet from him. This zoo makes it friendly to get as close as possible to the animals. He was eating something off the tree for at least 20 minutes until another Giraffe came into the picture from the right. Then he got a little possesive with his tree.

He's so tall he won't fit on my screen!
In this shot, I think the tree is unexpected - it gives the viewer a jolt. I like it, especially the way there is a sort of response to the giraffe "pattern" in the texture of the tree. It also helps emphasise the height.

You did a lot of measuring over here Gina, youre probably a good climber because I don't see any stairs. Now serious stuff, you must have been pretty close with the 18-55 on your camera. Nicely captured this magnificent animal. Kind regards,
