Thanks for your comments to my photo.
I like the pose of this spoonbill.
If I may make some technical suggestion on the D70 - I did own it and I found that it tends to underexpose images. You'll want to keep the histogram to the right most of the time.
For shots of birds you'll want to do spot metering and keep the aperture wide open. ISO also needs to be cranked up. In this case, it's not such a dark bird so you can just leave it a 0 or +.3 EV.
This will help you lighten up the subject and get sharp images! You'll also want to set your camera AF-C so that you can take rapid shots of the moving bird. Hope you don't mind my tips, I've recently learned it also.
