Hi Dan, good reference, I think the raven does create a rather ominous feel about this image, and in that way the hard contrast, almost rendering raven and bridge into silhouettes works well, to me, that emphasises the atmosphere.
Photographically, I'd like to see a bit more details and a wider tonal range, mainly because the current image itself isn't a pure silhouette...
I do like this shot, but mostly the idea behind it. In it's composition, I think I would've tried to place the raven more off-center, preferably to the left of the image, IMO, that would balance the compsoition a bit more, making it even more powerful.
