Hi Dear Hugo First of all, I am very happy to have your detailed comment regarding my photo. After having read I understood that I take this picture to show a bit too much, espacially the reflections of the objects (boat, huse, trees etc...)
In addition... I do not have cut the white boat, the twigs on the left, it is my framing which is badly made :)
I will share my other photographs of reflections zoomed in a bit more.
Thanks again, for your nice and very helpfull comment. Regards,
I'm not really sure what to think of this photo; to me, it lacks a specific point of interest, which also makes my eye wander over the photo, finding more quite distracting things, such as the cut off bit of the white boat, the twigs on the left which could work if you'd included more.
As to those cut off bits, there's essentially nothing wrong with it, but to me, is like with everything else: if you decide to cut off a bit of something, do it good; the smaller the cut off bit, the more of a distraction it becomes. The same with showing small strips; nothing wrong with it, but at least include a decent strip, with enough "body" to actually contribute to the photo.
I have a feeling you wanted to show a bit too much, or didn't carry the right lens. the light on the tree on the right bank of the river near the house is very nice, as is the touch of red there, as well as the reflection of that part in the tranquil river. I think if you could've zoomed in a bit more, you could really have made something out of this scene.
To me, it's the wide angle that doesn't really work here, it includes too much, and draws the viewers attention to the wrong parts. Hope you see what I mean.
