Hi Susie. Micro (Nikon) and Macro (generic) should imply 1:1 reproduction on the film plane. So technically speaking it is not magnified beyond life size until you make a print. With accessories such as extension tubes, bellows and extra front mounted lenses you can increase the macro beyond 1:1. My Panagor Macro Converter allows me to go 3:1 when used with my Micro Nikkor 60mm. However 1:1 is nothing to sneeze at, since your normal lens may give you as little as 1:10.

Does the micro lens allow you to actually magnify what your are shooting? Great exposure Eb.
