Thanks Bill . I was lucky to get this shot at all . Here's why . It took me about 20 minutes to slowly creep this close to the duck . Just as I was snapping this shot , a guy in a honking big new SUV drives right up behind me , rolls down his window and starts to yell out the window to me how happy he was with his Canon gear and how much better his Canon lenses were than anything else . Idiot !! I really intended to get closer to the duck , but , that was the end of that idea pretty quick . I never got another Wood Duck photo opportunity for the rest of my visit in Florida .
Hi Rob; Well I've been looking at the birds, and I have to say that IMHO, this is the best shot. The Wood Duck stands out really well...the clarity is extremely sharp, and the background is fairly conducive to highlighting him. Bravo... I look forward to more adventures from Florida...
Excellent shot Rob, Great colours and DOF. The details are so incredible that I can almost feel its texture. I have not seem one of this guys yet. In December I am planning to visit one of their breeding grounds at Lake Santee in San Diego, CA. Keep up the good work. Yamil
