About
Taken Sunday 290106 at the famous Portland Bill in Dorset, this crane if memory serves me well, was used many years ago to lift Portland stone (before the days of lorries etc )onto boats which then transported the stone to places like London, to build some of the great buildings we have there.
The crane is now only used for the local fisherman and those are few and far between now.
The colours of the stone and the bright sunrise on the rock faces, made it worth the 6.30am start to catch this light. Hope you enjoy and have a great evening. Thanks to Miles, debs and Geoff for the insperation on this image.
I like the colors and the high contrast. There's no question, the best light is in sunrise and in the sunset. It's always worth to get up so early. Wide lens look as well great to thet composition. Well done Mike!
