Hi Greg, I don't use screw on grads because you can't adjust the position of the transition. The horizon is rarely in the middle. I'm not sure what lens you're using on your 20d but I doubt you can use a Cokin A holder at even 18mm. I used a filed down (1 slot) Cokin P holder for a long time but I have just ordered a Lee holder which takes the next size up (100mm) filters so that I can use multiple filters (POL + grad) at the widest setting of my lens. If you are planning on shooting with a 10-20mm lens then I would recommend you do the same. If you are not shooting wider than about 24mm (35mm equiv) then cokin P is fine without filing off any slots. ) 0.6 and 0.9 are probably the 2 most useful. Cheers, Collin.

Hi Collin. have been looking on Trade me - an online auction site here in New Zealand. I found a Neutral Density Filters 0.6 which screws directly onto the lense. It's brand new and has a buy now price of $29. Whats better - screw on directly to the lens or the cokin system. I do have a cokin A filter holder. Any way will slowly gather a few and will source your photo's for help with settings if that ok with you. Cheers for your help. greg

Hi Greg you have a great portfolio. It reminds that I would love to visit New Zealand. What a beautiful country. Regards, Collin. PS: Did you decide on the filters you were going to order?

Believe me, I am counting the days until he is gone. Ooops, different Bush, sorry.
What a neat landscape. I love the low lying clouds or fog in the mountains. NZ is such a beautiful place.

This is the kind of nature's shot I like! Pity that it did not work perfectly. Those mountain tops covered by the mist are a wonderful pattern. Hope you'll try again! Thanks for the visit, Greg! Gabriela

The composition itself is great Greg but the focus is shot. I agree, a good decision to post in spite of that for the mist shrouded mountains look quite stunning. Well done....another little slip that we all learn from. Kind regards.....Ray

That is awesome! The lines formed by the hills are a great lead across the image. The fog/mist add a lot of depth the the image.

Pity you lost it because it would have been fantastic but it is still a very well composed image with a great lead in.
