Congratulations having this hung in the museum Micky. Beautifully detailed image utilising the shallow depth of field very well and a deceptively simple but very strong composition.

Thanks Kes,yes it is the DOF and the soft blurred colours of the background which I like so much using the 70-200 wide open which pleases me as well. Regards Micky

Thanks for the comment Greg, yes it is a bit on the cold side for photos today, although I took heaps of bird ones yesterday from my window.I had put up new feeding stations and had Tuis Bellbirds and waxeyes by the hundreds. It is good to be back in action,my health had packed up earlier in the year but I am slowly getting back to my old self again thankgoodness.I will check out your portfolio to see what I have been missing. Cheers Micky.PS this image is hanging in the nature exibition on at the museum at the moment.

Hermoso macro, absolutamente lindo y muy bien empleado el 70-300mm. Solo que al lado izquierdo distrae mucho esa pequeña rama. Podría recortarse para reencuadrar la escena nuevamente.Igual está muy linda.

Hi Micky. Nice shot - love the way it hangs and the shape of the stem. I guess today you could say winter is really here - to cold for taking photo's. Regards Greg
