Hi Michele.....Lovely capture! I love to shoot birds as well and just watch them. Have not yet got the technique down but am still trying. Investing in a good lens would prob be the best thing I could do. That and better learn my camera settings. lol You must have a blast riding your bike out on photo opps......That is what I am thinking about doing. That is if I can ever stop buying camera equipment! lol Your photo is really beautiful...... The white head, neck and chest looks soft like snow clouds, Very stricking image and well captured Michele. I look forward to seeing more of you work! Take care of yourself and keep shooting!!!

Thankyou Maurizio . The first seagulls legs were not cropped or I would fix this.. bummer I didn't catch them. They kind of snuck up on me ! Michele~

Excellent nature shot, pity for the legs of the first pigeon that are cropped out... nice details and tones, but maybe better with stronger contrast, in my opinion...

Thank You for the great critigue . I don't know what IMO, or dof means altho I can look it up and read more about it. You are a very good teacher. I lucked out being able to communicate with both you + your wife. I do plan to apply these tecniques, especially today 'first day of Summer '! I can't seem to repair what I've already got yet because of the program I have, and maybe my own level of knowlege) At this time I will keep them just as a learning project as Marlyce suggested. Please don't think I am not appreciative . Michele~

Michele, I was going to make some really nice comments on this, however, it looks like Doyle beat me to it. I agree with him 100% on you are getting better every shot. Good job.

Good focus . . . color and (almost) composition . . . wonderful subject and title. Just be careful not to have these guys centered . . . off-center subjects add tension and interest. Since their eyes are to the right (IMO) you should try to have more open picture to the right than you have on the left. I don't mind the feet cut off on the front bird where I usually would be distracted by it because the interest in this shot which you have managed to capture (and sense) so well is in those faces. Color is perfect. Your work keeps getting better and better and soon I'll have nothing to do but say "Oooooooh and Aaaaahhhhh" or "Nice shot"! ...On a side note: California gulls have a red spot on the side of the beak. If these are that kind of gull . . . I'd consider adding a tad bit of red saturation if you can do it. If you can't do that - or if these are not California Gulls . . . well . . . then . . . never mind. :)
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~
