I really like it Ron, I think you did a good job with it, in spite of the focus...I like the touch of color in the eyes, the light and the mood, nice work!!!

Thanks for the visit and the good advice Joel. I will try this next time with my newly acquired remote. The light fill suggestion was much appreciated. Regards Ron.

Howdy Ron.
Forgive me for not catching all your new images.... the damn day job rules my free time lately.
ok... a wee bit of advice..since you asked :)
I like this.. at first glance, the burn/sharp effect to help the focus on the eyes is causing a very crunchy look to the overall. Since our eyes always go for the eye...it caught me right away. It it tricky w/ the remote! ...looks like the focus lock on the neck, and probably with a f/3.6-4.6 ? Pretty tight.
The lighting could stand to have a little fill on screen left. From how hot your key was, I bet you could get away with having a white card (or white towel) to reflect light back on to the screen right area of the face. that's all it needs for lighting. The meter may not have grabbed a mid-grey..so the darks are pretty crunchy.
very good portrait.. outstanding composition, and great expression captured!
...no picture is bad... as long as you have a camera.. all is good.
cheers, -joel
